Apple will unveil the iPhone 16 series on September 19, and now, according to the report of the Financial Times, the company has used the new ARM V9 architecture in the chip of its new phones.
In September last year, Apple signed an agreement with Aram that will last until 2040. The news of using ARM V9 technology is also very promising for ARM. The mentioned company announced in July that its V9 architecture accounts for 50% of the smartphone market revenue.
Logo owns the intellectual property of the computing architecture of most of the world’s smartphones and provides this technology to Apple and many other companies. Apple uses ARM technology in the process of designing its own chips for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Apple and ARM have a long history of cooperation. The Cupertino-based tech giant was one of the first companies to co-found ARM in 1990. Interestingly, Apple’s Newton handheld computer was also launched in 1993 with a chip based on ARM architecture.
Apple’s Newton project failed; But ARM became the most important company designing the architecture of smartphone chips due to the low consumption of its products, which helped to increase battery charging.
