Aref: Limitations in cyber space have not had any effect
Mohammadreza Arefthe first vice president also stated that the restrictions in cyber space have not had any effect so far, citing the example of satellite antennas in many houses and said: “I am surprised that the security institutions do not protest about these restrictions.”
Emphasizing the pursuit of the strategic document of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the virtual space, he wanted to legalize the governance of the virtual space.
Today, restrictions in cyberspace have no effect. It was clear even before the technology advanced that the only thing restrictions would do was raise the cost to the consumer and create security loopholes. We consider security elites to be a principle and we have no compliments in this regard. But some things (Internet restrictions) that are done due to lack of recognition in our country, harm the security sector. I am surprised that the security institutions never protest about these restrictions. [با آسیب به بخش امنیت به دلیل ایجاد Ù…Øدودیت]They don’t have complete aristocracy on this space anymore.
– Mohammadreza Aref, First Vice President
Aref then said that in this situation VPN supply companies etc. have replaced security institutions and on the other hand people pay more for VPN and receive bad quality service and this process has caused them to become pessimistic.
Emphasizing that we are teaching people to disobey the law with this process, he explained: “Unfortunately, during these four decades, laws have been approved that everyone admits that it is time to abolish them, but no one dares to step forward.” It’s just people rebelling against law enforcement and that’s bad. For example, satellite antenna is prohibited, but which house does not have one? Even satellite dishes are meaningless and removing the antennas is useless.”
The first vice president said with these explanations: “By working on the strategic document of cyberspace, the governance of cyberspace becomes legal, and this mentality that everything that happens in cyberspace is related to filtering will change and this situation will be settled.”
He also considered it very important to follow the digital economy document and complete the national information network and added: “All governments raise the issue of the national information network, but at the moment I do not see a leap and serious movement in pursuing and closing the file of completing the national information network.” We do not lack human resources in this sector and our best are among the elite and experts.
