Bluetooth 6.0 has been released and brings new features such as enhanced security and precision tracking that can improve the performance of Find My by Apple, Google and Tile, the Bluetooth Special Group (SIG) announced.
One of the important features of Bluetooth 6.0 is called Channel Sounding, which can calculate the distance between two devices with an accuracy of one centimeter. For this, it uses the phase-based measurement method of the signals sent between two devices, such as iPhone and AirTag, at different frequencies, and in this way, it can detect the distance between them. Developers will soon be able to integrate this feature into Find My apps and track location more accurately.
Channel Sounding technology in Bluetooth 6.0 improves the security level of digital keys used to unlock a car or hotel room. With the help of more precise tracking, the developers ensure that the digital key can only unlock the device within a certain range. In this case, the possibility of theft is reduced by disconnecting the phone and locking the car.
Bluetooth 6.0 also improves ISOAL. ISOAL allows large data frames to be transmitted in smaller packets and reassembled later. The new framing mode reduces latency and increases reliability.
In Bluetooth 6.0, you will not find news about improving the data transfer rate to avoid sound quality loss and delay in wireless headphones; Because the new version of Bluetooth helps track objects more accurately than Bluetooth headphones.
