Qualcomm’s Glamor project is coming; The second generation of Snapdragon X processors for ARM computers
Qualcomm is said to be working on next-generation Snapdragon X2 processors for ARM computers, and has tested a chip called the SC8480XP.
Amidst a slew of x86 laptop processors from Intel and AMD, Qualcomm introduced ARM-based Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors earlier this year as part of the first line of Copilot Plus computers. Apparently, Qualcomm is working on the next generation of Snapdragon processors to compete with Intel’s Lunar Lake and Red Team’s Ryzen AI.
According to the Winfuture report, SC8480XP prototypes, codenamed Glymore or “Glymore Project”, were tested between July and the end of August. The current generation of Snapdragon X processors have the internal model number SC8380XP and their code name is Hamwa.

Qualcomm appears to be still in the very early stages of testing its next-generation chips, and early evaluation platforms are designed to test samples before their specifications are finalized.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Qualcomm is working on at least two next-generation variants of the Orion cores architecture that will be used in Snapdragon X-based AI computers.
The Snapdragon X V2 series is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2025, followed by the Snapdragon V3, possibly by the end of 2027. Since this schedule was proposed by Dell, Qualcomm’s partner, we can be confident about Qualcomm’s Glamor project. Glymore is the name of the second highest waterfall in Iceland.
The source says that a new, low-end variant of the Snapdragon X Plus family, called the X1P-24-100, is in the works. This processor is expected to have eight cores and possibly a lower frequency or weaker graphics performance. The mission of this processor will be to reduce the price of mid-range Windows ARM laptops.
