Android 15 has been officially released; But you can’t install it right now

Android 15 is finally here, but for now only developers can install it. Google’s next-generation operating system has entered the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and support for the Pixel series phones will begin in the coming weeks.

If you own a Samsung phone, Xiaomi phone and other Android devices, you have to wait a little longer to experience Android 15. Google says that various companies will introduce custom versions of Android 15 to their phones in the coming months.

New versions of Android usually focus on improving the way apps and devices communicate with each other and don’t host many different features. Google has said that devices equipped with Android 15 will support one-touch Passkey, the ability to detect theft, improve multitasking on large screens and limit access to some applications.

One of the interesting changes of Android 15 has been applied to the screen reader (TalkBack). Google showed the changes to the talkback section at the I/O 2024 event. In Android 15, this tool is integrated with Jamnai artificial intelligence to create voice description for the photos you open on the phone.

Google has announced the expansion of the Circle to Search feature in Android 15. This magical feature, powered by artificial intelligence, can now help you identify music like the Shazam service. This feature entered the test phase in recent weeks and in the final version, it has the ability to identify the name of the music, singer and even its music video on YouTube.

In addition to identifying the music inside the phone, Circle to Search can find the music played in the outside environment only through the speaker of the device.

Google has said that with the release of Android 15, the earthquake detection system will enter all regions of the United States. The company is already issuing earthquake warnings in California, Oregon and Washington in cooperation with the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The current version of Google’s earthquake detection feature relies on the USGS’s ShakeAlert system of seismographs, but in the new version, users who don’t have access to ShakeAlert will detect earthquake notifications through their Android phone’s accelerometer sensor.

If a large number of devices in an area detect a sudden tremor, Android Earthquake Alerts will detect an earthquake by analyzing the data. Google has already introduced this feature in almost 100 countries.
