Xiaomi is apparently preparing to expand its electric car business internationally. Xiaomi had a noisy presence in the Chinese car market with the SU7 car and has planned its second car model to be released next year.
Xiaomi is said to be setting up a dedicated team with an initial focus on market research, project management and after-sales support to drive its international sales.
According to a new report, Xiaomi will start with limited sales of the car in selected regions. With more than 100 Xiaomi stores around the world, the company will be able to gauge the market’s reaction and adjust its approach before the full launch.
The SU7 sedan was launched in China in early 2024 with a base price of 215,900 yuan (26,800 euros). Xiaomi says it has exceeded its annual target of 100,000 units and has set a new target of 130,000 units.
