With this advanced fanless cooling, the Samsung laptop has a 16% larger battery and 50% better performance

In the fast-paced world of technology, thin and light laptops have become one of the most popular computing devices. However, maintaining powerful performance in such compact designs has always been a major challenge for engineers. The main problem is to remove the heat produced by the internal parts without increasing the volume of the device or creating annoying noise. It seems that Frore Systems has come up with an innovative solution to this problem with its new technology called AirJet.

At CES 2025, Frore Systems plans to showcase a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge 14 laptop with AirJet solid state cooling technology. This technology offers a new approach to the thermal management of thin and light laptops, solving problems such as heat dissipation and noise without reducing the portability of the device.

Instead of using traditional fans, AirJet technology uses a solid-state airflow mechanism that provides efficient and silent cooling. According to the report of Frore Systems, this technology can increase the performance of the laptop by 50%, without increasing the thickness of the device or producing additional noise. Previously, the company had demonstrated its AirJet solid-state cooling technology by integrating it with an SSD, with promising results in terms of heat and performance stability.

The Galaxy Book 4 Edge 14 is one of the slimmest laptops in its class, and the model equipped with AirJet is designed to maximize performance and portability. According to Frore Systems, the AirJet cooling technology increases the performance of this laptop from 12 to 18 watts by replacing traditional fans with four AirJet chips.

The aforementioned change reduces the space required for the cooling system by 45% and provides more internal space for a 16% increase in battery capacity from 55.9 to 64.8 Wh. The AirJet system also eliminates the need for fan inlet holes, providing a sleeker, dustproof and water-resistant design. Meanwhile, the 10.9 mm thickness of the Samsung laptop is maintained. Compared to the MacBook Air 15, Samsung’s representative with AirJet technology offers about 29% longer video playback time.

Frore Systems says AirJet technology is designed for next-generation laptops, addressing the need for powerful performance in compact, ultra-slim devices. The integration of this technology with Samsung’s Galaxy Book 4 Edge laptop is an early indication of how the company is improving thermal management and reducing noise levels.

Considering that the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge 14 laptop will be the first demo laptop with this new technology, it is still too early to make a definitive statement about the performance of the solid-state cooling system, and we will have to wait until CES 2025 next month to understand the full capabilities of the technology. Let’s wait.
