Before the start of CES, LG unveiled a new set of gaming monitors. The flagship of this collection in 2025 is the GX9 series bendable monitor from the UltraGear family, which, according to LG, is the first bendable display with a resolution of 5K2K or (2,160 x 5,120 pixels) in the world.

The latest 45-inch LG monitor provides a good visual experience for gamers. With the high resolution of this monitor, users benefit from the same number of vertical pixels as a 4K monitor; While they will have a wider space to play.

The 21:9 aspect ratio of the said monitor provides a richer and more immersive experience than standard 16:9 aspect ratio displays for gamers, and at the same time, it is better compatible with all kinds of content than monitors with an aspect ratio of 32:9.

Ultragear bendable gaming monitor (model 45GX990A) has the ability to change shape from completely flat to 900 radian curvature. The latest version of LG’s Dual-Mode feature allows users to easily switch between default settings for resolution and image refresh rate, and allows users to adjust aspect ratio and image size.

The LG 45GX990A monitor supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies; But LG has not announced the refresh rate of the display.

LG will also offer another (non-bending) monitor with a fixed curvature of 800 radians. The 45-inch size, aspect ratio and 5K2K resolution are the same in both models. LG’s press release claims that you can expect sharp and vivid images, “stunning” colors and exceptional contrast.

Common specifications between both monitors include a response time of 0.03 milliseconds (GtG) and DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C ports with 90W output power. The 45GX950A model uses RGWB sub-pixel arrangement to improve the readability of text on the screen and prevent long-term eye fatigue.

In addition to the two monitors mentioned above, LG is also introducing the curved Ultragear 39GX90SA monitor at CES, which is described as a “webOS-powered home entertainment hub” that provides easy access to online streaming services just like an LG TV.
