The flagship Dimension 9400 chip is set to power some of the best Android phones in 2025. Oppo Find X8 and Vivo X200 will be the first phones to use the new Taiwanese chip.
Before the official unveiling, WhyLab published a post on Weibo and compared the Oppo Find X8 Pro with the iPhone 16 Pro equipped with the A18 Pro processor in the Genshin Impact game.
In the 30-minute test, the new Oppo flagship was able to run the game at an average rate of 60.44 fps, and the iPhone 16 Pro ran the game at an average rate of 47.48 fps. The performance of the iPhone does not seem so bad; But WhyLab says the game experienced some lag when running on an iPhone, causing the frame rate to dip below 35fps at times.
The better performance of Dimension 9400 comes at the cost of increased temperature. The Oppo Find X8 Pro reached a temperature of 47.7 degrees Celsius during the test, while the temperature of the iPhone 16 Pro did not exceed 45.9 degrees Celsius.

The difference in thermal performance can be related to the phone’s cooling system regardless of CPU power and power consumption. OPPO’s more advanced cooling system allows for more efficient heat transfer from the processor to the body of the device and finally to the surrounding environment. As a result, devices equipped with more efficient cooling systems, despite producing the same amount of heat, may have a hotter body due to higher thermal conductivity.
The new Oppo flagship phone will probably be equipped with a 5800 mAh battery and a 6.82-inch 1.5K OLED screen with a curved edge.
