The Snapdragon 8 Elite, which forms the beating heart of the best phones of 2025, has shown off its graphics power and apparently achieved a stunning achievement.
According to one XDA userQualcomm’s flagship chip was able to run the game Cyberpunk 2077 on one of the phones through simulation at a constant rate of 60 frames per second.
We’ve already seen the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s Adreno 830 graphics outperform the AMD Radeon 780M integrated graphics used in popular handheld consoles like the ROG Ally X and Legion Go in 3DMark benchmarks.
Qualcomm has not only significantly improved the CPU performance of its new chip by adding custom Urine cores; Rather, it has increased the Adreno 830 GPU frequency to 1.1 GHz, which will make it an ideal option for the best gaming phones.
The user claims to have achieved 60fps at 720p with the game’s low visual settings. A short video showing the game mentions the use of FSR technology or similar frame-rendering techniques.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite has seen a significant leap in mobile emulator capabilities, with reports suggesting that it offers almost double the emulation performance of its predecessor. This development could eventually lead to native ports (running without emulation) of AAA games that would run smoothly on flagship phones.
Even if the Snapdragon 8 Elite can run demanding games, developers may hesitate to optimize games for this wide range of devices. So, the dream of console-quality AAA games on phones may still be premature.
