OnePlus has confirmed that the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, will be equipped with a 50-megapixel triple camera system. This set includes a 50-megapixel main camera with LYT-808 sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a 50-megapixel periscope camera. In other words, OnePlus 13 will apparently use the same main camera as its predecessor, but its ultra-wide and telephoto cameras have been upgraded.
According to Weibo OnePlus post, OnePlus 13’s periscopic camera will use 3x optical zoom and its lens aperture will be f/2.6. Other features of this camera include optical image stabilization and a 1.95-inch sensor.
In general, the specifications of the OnePlus 13 periscope camera will be similar to the periscope camera of the Oppo Find X8 series. However, it remains to be seen how the OnePlus 13’s periscope camera will perform compared to the OnePlus 12’s 64-megapixel camera. Reduced resolution can affect zoom performance at long distances, but larger sensor dimensions improve low-light imaging performance.
OnePlus 13 will offer some of the features of the Oppo Find X8 camera, including 4K video recording at 60 frames per second and support for Dolby Vision technology on all cameras, higher quality live images and the ability to freeze moving subjects without the need for a dedicated photography mode.
Other expected features of OnePlus 13 include Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, 6000mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and IP68 or IP69 certification for water and dust resistance. The launch event of the OnePlus phone will be held in the coming days, so we will know about all its specifications soon.
