Social network Trades, X’s competitor, may add the feature of disappearing posts

According to a report by Tech Crunch, the social platform Trades is working on a new feature that will allow users to publish their posts on a temporary basis. This feature, which is very similar to the Fleets section of the former Twitter, allows users’ posts and replies to disappear after 24 hours.

Chris Messinaa tech expert, discovered the 24-hour temporary posts feature on Trades. With the integration of Trades with Fediverse, posts are spread more widely; But the ability to delete posts from Fediverse is still not there. For this reason, temporary posts can only be deleted in the Trades environment and remain permanently in Fediverse.

The integration of Trades with Fediverse is an important step to expand access to content and create a larger online community. However, this integration also brings new technical and legal problems.

It’s not yet clear whether temporary posts will be rolled out to Threads for wider testing. A Meta spokesperson confirmed that the feature is only an internal prototype and is not currently being tested externally.

However, if the said feature is widely adopted, it could make the trades more attractive than before; Because it will be the only place that offers this type of time-limited content. This feature can help attract more users who are leaving X; Because X no longer offers temporary content.

Finally, it should be said that this feature can help users share more content without worrying about their posts being permanent. Given that Trades currently has more than 200 million monthly active users, this feature can help the platform grow and engage more.
