A few days ago, Samsung unveiled its first XR mixed reality headset, which is currently in the prototype stage. The name of this device is Project Moohan, and Mohan means “infinity” in Korean. Although the price of Samsung’s virtual reality headset has not yet been announced, this will be the first device that uses the Android XR operating system. Samsung’s mixed reality headset will be the first device to use the “Hey Jamnai” voice command.
Jamna is the core of Google’s new operating system, Android XR, for augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR) headsets, and augmented reality glasses. This entire operating system is built on the basis of artificial intelligence and Jamnai will be the artificial intelligence assistant that will be installed by default on all devices that use Android XR.
As Samsung’s XR headset will likely be the first device to run Android XR, it will also be the first to use the “Hey Jamnai” voice command. Currently, you can access Google Assistant or Jamnai by using the key phrase “Hey Google”; But this will change in the future.
All of Google’s demos for Samsung’s XR headset and Android XR OS used the key phrase “Hey Jamnai” to invoke the built-in AI-powered voice assistant. Since Google plans to completely replace Google Assistant with Jamnai, this move seems logical.
