A new IDC report shows that in the third quarter of 2024, we see a 2.4% decrease in the volume of personal computer shipments compared to the same period last year. The total supply of personal computers in the third quarter reached 68.8 million units, which shows a decrease compared to 70.5 million units in the third quarter of 2023.

Apple has experienced the biggest decrease in sales and with a 24.2% drop, the number of computers sold has reached 5.3 million units this year from seven million units last year.
On the other hand, Asus witnessed the highest market share growth of 10%, which shows an increase of approximately 0.5 million devices in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the third quarter of 2023. Despite a few million device drops in supply volume, the demand for AI is expected to significantly increase both supply volume and company revenue.
