Microsoft introduced the new “companions” feature of the Windows 11 taskbar. The user can now access important information with the help of this feature and with just one click.
Microsoft’s companion feature, which the company calls Microsoft 365 Companions, gives the user the ability to quickly access contacts, files and appointments specified on the calendar in an integrated manner, in the Windows 11 taskbar.

Microsoft has not yet explained the details of the new Windows “companions” feature, but this new feature is very similar to the Windows 11 Phone Link application. In the Windows 11 24H2 update, Microsoft has created a similar experience with the Companions feature in the Start menu. With this feature of the Phone Link application, you can easily see the details of messages and calls and even the remaining charge of the mobile phone battery without opening the Phone Link application.

In the image shown at the Microsoft Ignite event, we see a floating panel of contacts that is very similar to the way the Microsoft Teams platform is integrated with the taskbar.
