Meta announced the Quest 3S augmented reality headset. This $299.99 headset is a combination of Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets. The Quest 3S offers the same mixed reality features and performance as the Quest 3 and is even equipped with the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip. As a result, you can play all the same games and experiences on any of these devices.
The Quest 3S uses the same Touch Plus controllers used in the Quest 3. This headset has a longer battery life than Quest 3. Meta claims that its new headset will charge for an average of 2.5 hours; While this number reaches 2.2 hours for Quest 3.
Quest 3S meta model virtual reality headset has deeper differences with Quest 3. This headset is a bit bigger than the Quest 3 and the sensor arrangement on it has been changed in a triangular shape. Quest 3S does not have the depth sensor of Quest 3, and the last and perhaps the most important difference between these two models is related to the resolution of their screens.
While the Quest 3S’s screen resolution is lower than the Quest 3’s, it’s on par with the older Quest 2’s resolution of 1920 x 1832 per eye. Also, the viewing angle of Quest 3S is more limited.
Meta has built an action key in the Quest 3S, and the user can use it to determine whether or not to view their surroundings at the same time. This action was performed in Quest 3 and Quest Pro headsets with the Double Tap feature; But apparently, Meta has decided to make it easier for the user to see the surrounding environment by embedding the action key.
Quest 3S headset pre-orders will start today and Meta will launch this headset on the market from 24 Mehr. By purchasing one of the Quest 3 or Quest 3S headsets, Meta also gives the user Batman Arkham Shadow as a gift. This game will be released on November 1.
