Meta has finally acquired the Thread.com domain for the Threads social network

According to TechCrunch, Meta, the owner of Facebook and Instagram, has just bought the Threads.com domain. This purchase was confirmed on September 24, 2024 (3 Mehr 1403) and the domain ownership information was updated in the Whois database.

The Threads.com domain was previously owned by a Sequoia-backed startup that operated as an alternative to Slack. Meta initially launched the Threads social network on the Threads.net domain; Because the Threads.com domain was not available at that time.
