The Bang & Olafsen brand has unveiled a new $1,549 headphone called the Beoplay H100, which is supposed to offer an unparalleled listening experience. Replacing the $999 H95, these headphones focus on high-quality materials, improved noise cancellation, and repairability.
According to Bang & Olafsen’s press release, the H100 headphone cushions are decorated with natural sheep leather, and scratch-resistant glass is used on the touch panel of the headphones. Such features have been seen in previous Bang & Olafsen headphones; But the important difference is that the head cushions and headband can be easily changed.
The manufacturer says that the H100 headphones have an improved design compared to the previous generation, and thanks to this change, parts such as batteries, drivers, and boards can be repaired or replaced. This issue is very important; Because H100 is an expensive headphone.
According to Bang & Olafsen, the company’s new headphones deliver sound through a pair of custom 40mm titanium drivers. The H100 is not only capable of playing high-quality 96kHz/24-bit sounds; It also supports Dolby Atmos 3D sound and head tracking system.
The noise canceling system of the H100 headphones depends on 10 separate microphones and shows twice the performance of the previous model. The previous model of this headphone was launched four years ago. Switching between active noise cancellation and transparency modes (a mode for listening to ambient sound) is done via a rotary button based on haptic feedback.
The H100’s 32-hour battery life (with noise cancellation turned on) is slightly weaker than the H95’s 38-hour battery life. If the 3D sound and the head tracking system are activated, the battery life of Bang & Olafsen’s new headphones will decrease by another two hours.
H100 does not have an on/off button like the Apple AirPods Max. Thus, the headphones turn on as soon as they are placed on the ear, and after the music is finished, they turn on in a low-power mode. In this case, the headphones will stay on for 90 days. The only way to turn off the headphones is to put them in a special case. Bang & Olafsen says that you can listen to five hours of music on a five-minute charge of the H100.
The advanced Beoplay H100 headphones are available now for US residents. The price of the mentioned headphones reaches 1,549 dollars. This product is available in black, sand and apricot colors.
