Lenovo X1 laptop with fully Chinese processor and 2.8K old screen was introduced

Zhaoxin Company (Zhaoxin) has unveiled the newest member of its processor family called KX-6000G in Lenovo X1 laptop. Unlike many competitors, this laptop does not use an Intel or AMD processor, but uses a proprietary Zhaoxin chip.

The KX-6000G processor was introduced two years ago for the Chinese domestic market, but due to the lower processing power compared to American competitors, it did not find an acceptable place in desktop systems. However, Lenovo has welcomed the processor with open arms and is offering the X1 laptop as an alternative for Chinese users.

According to Zhaoxin’s announcement, Lenovo X1 using the KX-6000G processor can meet the needs of users to do office and daily tasks. According to the initial benchmarks, the power of this processor is at the level of Intel Core i5 5015U and it scored 1035 points in Geekbench 5 multi-core test.

The appearance of the Lenovo X1 laptop is very similar to the ThinkPad X1 series and uses a high-quality carbon fiber body. With a thickness of 13.9 mm and a weight of 990 grams, this laptop is very thin and light. The X1 uses an OLED display with a resolution of 2.8K, on ​​top of which there is a webcam with security and privacy features.

The Lenovo X1 keyboard uses LED backlight and supports three adjustable light levels. Information about the amount of RAM and storage space of the said laptop has not yet been published. The performance of this device can be interesting compared to other mid-range ultrabooks, but considering the limitations of the processor, the mentioned product cannot be considered a direct competitor for modern mid-range laptops equipped with new Intel and AMD processors.

Zhaoxin’s KX-6000G processor uses 4 cores and 4 threads with a frequency of 3.3 GHz. The integrated graphics of this device also supports DX12, OpenCL 1.2, OpenGL 4.6 standards and image output with 4K resolution. Zhaoxin has taken a step towards the development of more powerful processors and has unveiled the KX-7000G this year as well; A processor that is at the level of Intel Core i3 10100 in terms of performance.
