General Motors enters the Formula One competition with the Cadillac brand

General Motors has announced that it will join Formula One with the Cadillac brand and participate in the 2026 season of the FIA ​​Formula One World Championship. Formula One says it accepts GM’s decision in its entirety and will consider requests from GM and Cadillac to become the 11th team in the competition. This is the first new team to join the tournament since 2016.

According to the Formula One announcement, after the commercial evaluation and the decision that the said organization made in January (Day and Bahman 1402), it has spoken with General Motors and its partners in TWG Global Motorsport Company about the seriousness of entering the competition. The announcement notes that GM will later join the race as an engine supplier, while The Race reports that the company will initially compete as a Ferrari customer.
