Maybe it’s time to take another look at your diet: Two-thirds of people don’t get four key vitamins and minerals they need from food and drink, a new study suggests.
Using a combination of data collected from the Global Diet Database and special statistical models, the researchers estimated dietary micronutrient levels for 99.3 percent of the world’s population in 185 countries. The results were alarming.
According to the authors, most people of all regions and income levels do not get enough of several essential micronutrients. This has a negative impact on health and limits human potential on a global scale.
