Bluesky, X’s rival social network reached 15 million users

Thanks to the new wave of registrations after the US presidential election, Blokasky social network has experienced a significant increase in the number of its users by crossing the border of 15 million users today. BlueSky’s user statistics were obtained by a developer called Jaz using the platform’s API.

Bluesky, which runs on the decentralized AT protocol, attracted around one million new users in the last week alone. Rose WangThe company’s chief operating officer announced that most of the new users who have switched to BlueSky reside in the United States. Currently, the application of this social network is on the first rank of the iOS app store, followed by the Trades application, ChatGPT and the Google application.

Although Trades is still ahead of Bluesky, recently hitting a record 275 million monthly users and growing by over a million daily signups, Bluesky offers a completely different experience. Both platforms are currently ad-free. While Trades uses an algorithmic feed made by meta, Bluesky provides users with the possibility of creating algorithmic feeds in addition to the Discover and Popular With Friends sections.

Among the new features of Bluesky, we can mention the possibility of sending videos, pinning posts, using custom fonts and a set of features to prevent the publication of inappropriate posts. Some of these tools, such as a custom font, create more distinction between the user post and the quoted post when using quotes.
