Apple Intelligence has not yet been able to attract the opinion of the majority of iPhone users

Artificial intelligence is fast becoming one of the important criteria in choosing smartphones. However, a new survey by SellCell shows that iPhone users are not very satisfied with Apple’s current AI capabilities, despite valuing the feature. This survey, which was conducted before the introduction of iOS 18.2, shows a picture of the expectations and dissatisfaction of users.

According to the survey, almost half of iPhone users (47.6%) consider AI features to be “somewhat” important in deciding to buy a new phone. Meanwhile, this figure for Samsung phone users is estimated to be much lower and around 23.7%. This statistic shows that iPhone users are more inclined to use artificial intelligence capabilities in their phones than Korean stars.

However, what iPhone users have seen from Apple Intelligence so far has not been able to satisfy them; Because 73% of users do not value these features and believe that the mentioned features do not add much value to the user experience. This dissatisfaction is even higher among Samsung phone users with a figure of 87%. This shows that both companies are facing serious problems in providing attractive and practical AI-based capabilities.

In this survey, the popularity of various Apple Intelligence features before the release of iOS 18.2 was also examined, and writing tools were selected as the most popular feature with 72 percent, followed by summarizing notifications with 54 percent, prioritized messages with 44.5 percent, cleaning photos with 29.1% and smart reply in email and messages with 20.9% are next. This statistic shows that the tools related to writing and notification management have attracted the most attention of users.

The important point is that the SellCell survey was conducted before the release of iOS 18.2; So features like Genmoji and Siri integration with ChatGPT are missing from this survey. Genmoji allows users to create new emojis using text descriptions. Also, Siri integration with ChatGPT allows users to send their questions directly to ChatGPT through Siri.

The aforementioned features can create a turning point in users’ attitude towards Apple’s artificial intelligence and increase their satisfaction. It remains to be seen how these new features can meet users’ expectations and change their minds about Apple’s AI-based capabilities.
