Apple’s strange mistake; Illegal movie and series streaming software entered the App Store

An app that streams pirated movies seems to have passed Apple’s review process and entered the App Store.

The Univer Note app, which is a platform for illegal streaming of movies and series, shows the movies to people who are in some regions outside the United States, including France, Canada and the Netherlands.

According to the post of one of the whistleblowers on Trades, the Univer Note application has been registered in the App Store as an application platform that can easily help you record daily events and schedule time.

However, if you live in a country like France or Canada where the app is active, when you open the app, a collection of pirated movies will appear. In-app options are labeled in French; While movies are broadcast in their original language with French subtitles or dubbing.

Anyone who downloads Univer Note in an unsupported region like the US will only see a note-taking and scheduling app. Other apps have also used this strategy to evade detection by App Store reviewers.

One of the recent examples was the Kimi app, which was introduced last year as a tool for measuring vision and was quickly removed from the App Store after news broke about it.
