Tigers, Predatory Orange Cats – Zoomit

Tigers are the largest wild cats with a weight of up to 260 kg and a height of three meters. Their habitat ranges from subtropical forests to snow-covered mountain areas. Thanks to conservation efforts, tiger numbers are increasing in some areas, however, the tiger is the least numerous of the big wild cats and is listed as “endangered” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Threats include habitat loss, poaching for China’s pharmaceutical trade, large-scale poaching of tigers for game meat, and retaliation for attacks on humans and livestock.

Remembering Wildlife is a fundraising photography book series that has raised more than $1.5 million to protect endangered wildlife. In the final book in the series, tigers are beautifully captured by some of the world’s top wildlife photographers.
