The graphics of MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400 chip appeared 94% better than A18 Pro in benchmarks.
On the eve of the unveiling of the powerful MediaTek processor, Dimension 9400, the graphics benchmark of this processor has been published, which shows its impressive power against Apple’s flagship chip and current competitor Qualcomm.
According to a Weibo leaker’s post, the Dimensity 9400’s internal graphics hit 134 fps in the GFX Aztec 1440P Vulkan off-screen test. This number is about 94% higher than the A18 Pro, which was obtained in the Zoomit benchmark for the iPhone 16 Pro Max and was able to achieve a rate of 69 frames per second.
The GPU benchmark of the new Mediatek chip is 65% better than the performance of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 generation 3 in the Galaxy S24 Ultra phone, for which the rate of 81 frames per second was calculated.
Dimension 9400 uses the new Mali-G925-Immortalis MC12 graphics processor, which has a high-power Cortex-X925 core with a frequency of 3.63 GHz, three intermediate Cortex-X4 cores with a frequency of 2.80 GHz and four low-power Cortex-A725 cores with a frequency of 2.10 GHz combined.
Arm, the GPU maker for the Dimension chip, claims the Immortalis G925 is their “highest performing and most efficient graphics” to date. Compared to the previous generation G720, the G925 is said to bring about 37% improvement in gaming and graphics performance, 52% improvement in ray tracing for complex objects, 34% more powerful artificial intelligence and machine learning processing, and 30% more energy efficiency.
The Dimension 9400 chip will be unveiled on October 9 (October 18) to be in the next generation of the best Android phones. On the other hand, Qualcomm is also expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8 generation 4 this month; So we have to wait for an interesting battle among the upcoming flagship phones.
