Apple unveiled the new feature of the Voice Memos application during the iPhone presentation event. Multi-layer audio recording is the newest feature of this application, which will only be available to iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max users. Although the new feature of the Voice Memos application improves voice recording capabilities; But the users of the old models of the iPhone and the base model of the iPhone 16 will not benefit from its features.
According to the Engjet report, the multi-layer audio recording feature allows iPhone 16 Pro users to layer a song of their choice over a pre-recorded audio. This feature can be attractive for musicians and songwriters.
Users can record a song, such as a guitar part, and then add vocals or other instruments. The method of using this feature is that the Voice Memos application plays music through the iPhone speakers and simultaneously records the user’s voice.
Users can also isolate the part they recorded on the original audio file using what Apple calls “advanced processing” and cancel the background music. This feature allows you to separate music layers for editing and using them individually.
Although the new Voice Memos feature removes some of the limitations of this popular application; But the fact that it will only be available to users of Pro models may be inconvenient for some users. It is expected that the multi-layer audio recording feature will be available to users through a software update at the end of the year.
The new Voice Memos feature is likely to take advantage of the advanced processing power of the new A18 Pro chip and four studio-quality microphones. The iPhone 16 series will be released on September 20 (30 September) and pre-orders for this series of iPhones will also start on September 13 (23 September).
