Toyota announced that its global production fell for the sixth month in a row in July, which was less than the double-digit decline the previous month. This decrease is mainly the result of production decline in markets such as China and Thailand.
According to Reuters, the global production of Toyota cars in July (July and August) reached 804,610 units with a decrease of one percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Production in China decreased by 6% and production in Thailand decreased by 13%.
Toyota’s global sales were down about 1 percent as a result of lower demand in markets such as the United States and China.
Toyota’s U.S. sales fell 5 percent due to the suspension of production and deliveries of the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX SUVs due to airbag problems.
Toyota’s sales in China have also decreased due to the increasing pressure from Chinese car manufacturers and the presentation of various electric and hybrid models.
