Xiaomi has launched a new monopod (selfie stick) called Zoom Floor Selfie Stick at the price of 149 yuan ($21) in the Chinese market.
The Xiaomi monopod has a 1.6m aluminum telescopic rod that offers durability and ease of shooting with wide angles. The handle doubles as a tripod and has a quick release mechanism that opens automatically with the push of a button.
The stability of the tripod is increased with an umbrella-shaped structure made of zinc towards its main base. The long legs of the tripod increase the load-bearing area and reduce the possibility of vibration.
In addition, the tripod has anti-slip silicone pads that provide better stability on the ground and are more stable even on uneven surfaces. For outdoor photography, the tripod has holes for auxiliary pegs, sold separately.
The Xiaomi Monopod is equipped with a multi-function Bluetooth remote control that magnetically attaches to the handle to prevent it from being lost. This remote control offers several convenient functions; including quick camera setup and switching between photo and video modes and zooming with 0.1x accuracy.
Users can easily switch between front and rear cameras with one click. The maximum range of the Xiaomi monopod remote control is 10 meters; However, some advanced features such as zooming and mode switching are only supported on Xiaomi phones with MIUI.
Xiaomi’s selfie stick has a rotatable clip for placing the phone, which allows easy adjustment of shooting angles and switching between landscape and portrait modes.
